(MENAFN) A statement by the Climate Change Committee (CCC) presented that increased electricity prices in the United Kingdom have made gasoline as well as diesel automobiles less costly to utilize than eco-friendly electric automobiles (EVs) as refilling the latter have become nearly too expensive for many.
In line with the statement, an upsurge in electricity rates accompanied with a widespread decrease in disposable revenue is having a significant effect on EV owners in the United Kingdom.
“Sharply rising electricity prices have reduced the per-mile cost savings offered by EVs compared to fossil-fuelled vehicles,” the news agency stated in its this year`s development statement to the British Parliament.
Drivers dependent on quick as well as ultra-quick civic chargers now are now encountering higher prices than those who own gasoline or diesel automobiles, the news agency stated.
Electric car owners, whether they are charging their vehicles at home or through contracts with charging operators, have seen severe rate increase over the last year.
