MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) issued a Water Drop Alert on Sunday, Aug. 8.
The Water Drop Alert urges area residents to use less water during heavy rainfall to reduce the risk of basement backups and sewer overflows. The alert came after a combined sewer overflow that began at 2 a.m. on Sunday.
Officials say try to use less water by holding off on washing dishes, to do the laundry a different day, and to take a shorter shower.
