New London — A water main broke late Tuesday night in New London, according to fire officials.
Firefighters responded to reports of a water main break in the area of Ocean Avenue and Willetts Avenue about 10:30 p.m., according to the New London Fire Department.
The main is the smaller of two water mains in that area, the fire department said, and the break was not affecting water supplies to any fire hydrants.
Veolia Water was still in the area repairing the break Wednesday morning. The repairs were expected to be completed by about 12:30 p.m., the fire department said.
It was not clear whether the break was impacting local residents’ water supply. The water company declined to comment on the break.
