The catastrophic six-year drought gripping Nelson Mandela Bay metro could last for another six years, according to SA Weather Service forecaster Garth Sampson.
No significant dam-filling rain has fallen in the area since 2016, resulting in a prolonged drought that has devastated the area.
Sampson, who sits on the Nelson Mandela Bay metro drought mitigation water crisis team, said floods which could break the drought and end Day Zero could come in 2028.
