Water Scarcity: JSR residents protest as outages lead to water scarcity | Ranchi News

Jamshedpur: Several households on the outskirts of the Steel City have been facing water scarcity for the past three days due to irregular power supply. Frustrated, residents of Refugee Colony, Sankosai, and Laxminagar in the Mango area protested at the office of the executive engineer of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL) at Dimna on Thursday night. “The water crisis has made lives hell for locals, office goers and factory workers who leave for jobs early. People of all age group participated in the protest,” said Sunil Paswan, a local resident. Residents alleged that officials are not showing interest in replacing damaged transformers and broken power cables despite repeated alerts. They threatened to stage a protest at JBVNL’s GM office if the problem is not resolved within the next day. The GM of JBVNL’s Jamshedpur division, Shravan Kumar, attributed the problem to faults in the transmission lines at the local level. TNN
