Agencies search for possible person in water in Oswego River

OSWEGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Around 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, people near the Best Western in Oswego reported seeing a person in the water in the Oswego River.

The Oswego Fire Department deployed Marine One, its water rescue vessel, but no one was found.


The fire department then launched three other vessels, joining the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Coast Guard, who were on the water searching as well.

A helicopter from New York State Police and an Oswego County Dive Team also searched.

No person was found in the water, and the fire department has no reports of a missing person, but searches were still happening as of 3:45 p.m., the fire department said.
