BREAKING NEWS: Boil/Bottled Water Advisory For Parts Of Columbus Junction Following Valve Break | KCII Radio – The One to Count On

break

Late Monday afternoon, the City of Columbus Junction reported that a water main valve broke and was in the process of being replaced. Residents living north of the railroad tracks experienced an interruption in their water, and are under a bottled water advisory until further notice.

The City must test the water to ensure that it is safe for consumption. While the advisory is in effect, it is not recommended to drink water that has not been boiled first. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation. Boiling the water for at least one minute kills any bacteria and organisms that may be present. Water may still be used for bathing or other similar purposes.

With any questions, contact Columbus Junction City Hall during their regular business hours. KCII will have more information as it becomes official.
