Water to be shut off in Old West Side for watermain work

Water will be shut off for a maximum of six hours Thursday night and into early Friday in the Old West Side neighborhood to replace valves on water mainlines.

Work is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Thursday and expected to complete by 2 a.m. Friday, a city press release states.

Water will be shut off in the 1300 blocks of 24th and 25th avenues, which run between Louisiana and Hudson streets.

Water will also be shut off in the 1200 blocks of 24th Avenue and Kessler Boulevard, which run between Hudson and Hemlock streets.

Seth Cockrill, with the city’s utility department, said water could come back on as early as midnight.
